No shit but I low key dislike the way this fandom is so unwilling to let Nico grow up and get new hobbies. It’s always along the lines of “oh, he gets back to mythomagic” and it’s all centered around mythomagic. Like why not explore more hobbies with him? From the vibe I get he’d probably be a huge reader given how much knowledge he has of history and mythology; maybe he just likes hanging out with his friends? Figure skating? Singing? Legit so many possibilities but no one wants to explore them. On that note Nico probably cherishes it as a nostalgic memory, but I promise you he is capable of getting new hobbies.

Pjo headcanon: New Athens

- Annabeth is in her final year of collage when she gets the idea to build a university for greek demigods

- it wouldn’t be completely separate from the romans, only acting as a sister school for demigods who are unable to travel across the country (like Percy) or demigods who feel like they better suit the camp style of Camp Half-Blood instead of the more militaristic style of Camp Jupiter

- it’s goes great and architects and engineers from New Rome help out with the project and it turns into an entire pantheon wide collaboration. Roman demigods are fully allowed to attend, no problems, and vice verse for greek demigods living at New Rome

- once the collage gets established, a small town starts to be built around it, (affectionately called New Athens and New Athens University respectively)

- it starts out as just older demigods who want to stay over the summer but not want to stay in the cabins, but then small businesses start cropping up and business means more people so more housing and then people get married and have kids of their own and before long it’s turned into a little suburban community

- as for Percy and Annabeth, I think they live in New Rome straight out of collage, but once they get married (which is around the time New Athens becomes an actual possibility and not a pipe dream) they move back to New York

- they don’t fully move into New Athens until their kids are past 18 and living on their own but they occasionally visit and check in on how things are doing

PJO characters random quirks/idk headcannons:

Percy randomly sits up in bed at night, dazed and tired, and just stare at a random part of his room for like twenty minutes before he goes “why am I doing this?” and lays back down

Nico, despite being a child of Hades, has strangely prophetic dreams. Like, one time, he was like “hm. I think Percy and Annabeth will have a daughter with white-blonde hair.” And then it turns out he was right— many random dreams where he just like, sees the future. (He’s not even a legacy of Apollo in any shape or form, nor been blessed, nor anything, he just sorta has those dreams, goes ‘huh’ and doesn’t think abt them until something happens)

Will has a look that legit scares the daylights out of people— like the ones moms give you when you’re acting up in public— the look of “are you fucking joking right now?” and just kinda has a resting annoyed face 95% of the time (unless he’s w/nico and then he’s fine- but in the infirmary? oh he’s MAD.)

Annabeth likes to like, chew on things while being focused or when she’s fidgeting— pencils, pens, gum

Leo quotes a bunch of different shows all the time— sometimes people understand it’s a reference and sometimes it just sorta flies over everyone’s heads

Hazel and Nico gossip quite a bit. Like, they could be in a meeting together and then all of the sudden someone says something off and they just look at each other like “omg we are 100% talking about that later”

Because I can. I can imagine:

Nico calling his loved ones local nicknames. I can totally imagine a neapolitan Nico calling his friends "uagliò" or "nenné" (which is like "dude" in neapolitan, both can be used normally or as a warning) or calling Will or Hazel "perzechella" (which means "peach" in neapolitan) as a term of endearment; an apulian Nico calling "muccusu" (which is little kid but as an insult) Leo if he was having beef with him on the Argo II or being called that himself by Bianca in a siblings bicker; or a sicilian Nico calling Percy "facc'i pichira" (literally, "ray fish face").

Or Nico being obsessed with opera because Maria always took him and Bianca to the Saint Charles theatre in Naples.

Or Nico knowing how to dance taranta or pizzica and being called to those rhythms even though he doesn't know why (those are respectively an Apulian and Campania's folk dance - if you don't know campania is where Naples and Pompeii are situated).

Or Nico very easily understanding/learing spanish, turkish and/or arabic because sicilian, being influenced by those populations throughout history, is very similar to those languages (especially spanish).

Or Nico inherently knowing how to make certain kinds of pasta, very swiftly because of the country fairs where older folks set up stands in the streets and make pasta, in honour of a local festivity or a local patron (very popular thing in southern italy especially Apulia).

anyway, this is a rant more than anything that I had to get out of my sistem bcs I have nothing to do and it's your problem.

OMG I LOVE THIS!!!

The Heroes of Olympus gang in stardew valley

Frank: greets everyone before doing anything else, likes farming crops and always gifts townsfolk on their birthday. Gets strangely stressed when a festival or event in the game is coming up and tries to prepare the best he can. When he finds out Shane's story he gives him his favourite food every day and accidentally almost ends up marrying him.

Percy: the fisher, absolutely a god a fishing within the first 8 days of spring year 1 he has level 10 fishing. NEVER makes it home each night - at 2am he ain't even moved from the beach. If percy gets a good treasure from fishing he gifts it to annabeth.

Leo: he's a miner. Shocking right? Loves hack and slash games so the mines are his favourite place, also lives for the soundtrack in the mines (don't we all). Gives flowers to all the girls in the game. Goes to Jojo market just to give the manger terrible gifts that he knows he hates.

Annabeth: great at gathering resources like... insanely good, somehow there's another 300 wood in the chest, how did she get 2 diamonds? Where's all these worm bins, furnaces, iridium sprinklers, preserver jars, and cheese makers coming from?? Insane at the community centre tasks. Makes it her goal to complete it in year 1. Focuses on house upgrades and always has the best quality food.

Piper: likes fishing a lot, her and percy grind in the fishing department.

Jason: with Leo in the mines. Really likes Abigale and gives her gifts every day.

Hazel: with Leo and Jason in the mines, a sucker for hack n slash and loves finding precious stones and gems. Gives them to Frank bc she's a sweety.

Nico: adventuring. The first to discover everything in the game, gets every cutscene first. Fixes all the bridges just to further adventure. On rainy days however he likes to fish and always has the strangest luck with catches that pisses Percy off.

Will: loves caring for all the animals, pats them every day, waters the plants every day. Will is quite diverse he likes to cover all bases of the game quite equally tho finds out he's not very good at the mines and after dying once always carries an excessive amount of food with him everywhere out of fear. Always stops to chat with each villager, curious about their stories.

Reyna: at equal ground with mines and fishing. Loves them both passionately, and gets really hyped in the mines, yet contrastingly later she could be so calm and mellow fishing at the beach with percy and piper. Simp for Penny, thinks Alex is hot.

Grover: the forager and farmer, loves the nature aspect of it, goes to Calico desert with Nico sometimes just because it excites him the exoticism of it. When a train goes past will literally drop everything to go there. Simp for Leah.

He is however very sad that neither Annabeth, Clarrise or Drew had met Octavian in camp Jupiter, because as much as he frowns on it he would pay any kind of money to see those three tear him a new one for acting like a little bitch he is.

headcanon that percy stays ready to clock the minotaur. this man would pause his lunch break to give this bull it's horn a third time. this man would dehydrate for two days if it meant he could murk this bull at the end of it. this man's beef with this walking beef is so grandeur. it was the first monster he killed the moment the battle of mamhattan began. this is one of percy's consistent bloodlust moments and no one will ever fault him for it.

Hot take: I don't really see the whole "Nico is autistic-coded in canon" thing. It's a cool hc/fanon but there's a lot of equally plausible reasons for Nico's behavior. I just don't really see it. Sorry if this was offensive.

who also ADORES annabeth and loves having intellectually challenging conversations with her about architecture, philosophy, mathematics, literally everything

an aunt who helped sally throughout her pregnancy with estelle which makes sally cry because she didn't have anyone when she was carrying percy

sally crying again because she's never had a parent figure since her uncle died and now paul's parents are all over her with their affection and acceptance (especially once they find out about the greek world)

a cool older cousin who ruffles percy's hair, teams up with annabeth to make fun of him, plays video games with him (annabeth teases percy that despite saving the world multiple times, he still wants to impress said cousin but still finds it cute how percy is adjusting to being the little brother for once)

when percy goes missing, all of them team up and consider marching up to olympus to kill the gods for kidnapping their new little baby boy

then after the events of hoo they adopt all of the seven

and they literally have to buy a bigger table because of the big family dinners they all have

and percy's just like 🥲 maybe relatives don't need to be out to ruin your life and traumatise you 24/7?

I've always wondered why the Romans think demigods all of a sudden started getting claimed? They couldn't know about Percy's deal with Olympus, so what do they think happened?

The gods were probably like "as a reward for fighting in the war we will now claim you all!"

The Romans were probably pretty proud of that.

Then like a year later this conversation happens:

Annabeth: and then after Percy made the gods promise to claim all their children-

Jason: THAT WAS YOU?!

Percy: yeah. Why did you think the god suddenly started claiming everybody?
